New green building breaks ground in Nuvali, affirms ALI’s commitment to sustainability

-

Celebrating 30 years as a listed company in the Philippine Stock Exchange, Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) affirms its commitment to sustainability with the groundbreaking ceremony of another landmark green building, the LHK Square South, in the country’s first and largest ecoestate, Nuvali.

The latest project of renowned property firm JSLA Architects, LHK Square South is soon to rise in Nuvali’s Lakeside Evozone-South, ALI’s green take on the campus-type business and commercial hub.

The nine-storey eco-friendly structure is geared to offer a green and sustainable environment for its future tenants, with a gross leasable area of 11,200 square meters, and is set to be completed by 2023. Among its noteworthy features are the double-glazed curtain glass system, which will minimize heat gain from the outside while maximizing natural lighting inside, a LED lighting system, and a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) cooling technology— all geared towards energy efficiency. The toilets will also be assembled using lowflow lavatory fixtures and flushed with treated recycled wat er.

As a focal structural piece in the estate, LHK Square South champions the same thrust of Nuvali on sustainable development through its function and design. The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA)-registered building is expected to cater to office locators and commercial tenants who acknowledge the prime benefit of a green building. JSLA Architects aims to secure a Leader in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification for LHK Square South.

“We may be spending a bit more in creating a future-ready project, but we believe that this is what the market needs now and in the future. Going green in design means building for a world that is environmentally-conscious and sound, and we’re shaping that here in Nuvali,” JSLA Architects founder Arch. Jose Siao Ling shares.

With the demand for sustainable real estate development becoming more evident, industry players like ALI and JSLA Architects have acknowledged that the practice of building green, eco-friendly spaces sets the industry on the path towards future-proofing communities.

“We see the value and potential of being present in Nuvali, especially with its vision of urban spaces that are in commune with people and nature. Working with ALI has always been an exercise in meaningful learning, collaboration and reward, and we’re very excited for what LHK Square South can contribute to its community,” says Arch. Ling.

Aside from its green features, the building will also have green walls visible from outside, and a roof garden where tenants can spend time with the fresh air and greenery. LHK Square South will also have an events center and basketball court open to its tenants and the rest of the community.

As ALI continues to integrate eco-efficient practices into all of its developments— from responsible land acquisition and green building design and sustainable construction— the fusion of urban conveniences and green development in spaces like Nuvali underscore the value of a more environmentally-integrated way of life now and in the years to com e.
