School year 2021-2022 is now approaching which will formally start on September 13,2021 (Monday) while the coronavirus diseases(COVID-19 ) Delta Variant surge seems to be persistent.Although the vaccination still on going and moving forward daily from 12 million onward and aim to achieve herd immunity for at least 70 million Filipino people.Still the Department of Education ( Deped) is still committed to learning continuity amidst the health crisis. This school year face-to-face classes, whether in partial or in full scale, will not be allowed unless permitted by the office of the President. Schools may observe national and local activities and holidays provided that the activities are beneficial to the teaching-learning process. It is also conducted through online to protect the students and teachers as well. Learning Delivery Modalities many had chosen is modular (printed )since internet connection for online classes is not possible for some filipino learners even televisions and radio stations due to poverty and signal problem. Issues had come out that the parents are the one who did the activities required in the modules, others have their tutor to help the parents who are working and dont have enough time for their children. The only question is “Are the filipino learners today really learned?”Other say yes and some say’s no. This time of pandemic we “the Filipino” and as a parent need to cooperate and help our learners discipline themselves in the Learning Delivery Modalities chosen. We must teach them how to focus on their studies, manage thier time and read widely and often to understand their lessons daily.I believed through reading makes your mind sharper and smarter. When you read, the comprehension abilities was exercised, it stimulates one’s imagination and sharpen the memory centers of your mind.It stabilize your emotions and helps recall information.Through reading we develop higher level of focus and concentration.Like Michael Stutman says “The more that you read ,the more things you will know. This coming school year learners need to pursue their studies inspite of the health crisis and continue reading as teaching for thier own development and improvement.
