A TASK TO PERFORM

Theodore Isaac Rubin is trying to remind us that life is a matter of choice. In the Teaching World, with the birth of the K 12 Law, we are encouraged to be Facilitators of learning rather than teaching with the so-called spoon feeding technique. We need to assist our student to learn to be involve in different collaborative activities. For most students, at first, they find this as a difficult responsibility but I believe in what Theodore Rubin in saying that, when we put Happiness in a difficult task, it will be a motivating factor to do that task because you know that there is something good that will be reaped. Within our hands lies the techniques in making these youngsters appreciate that Learning process is a two-way street. We learned together and that the success of each teaching-learning encounters depends to both of us(teachers and students). We must avoid letting them feel that a group activity or presentation is a burden….a sign of punishment and additional headaches for them because of those times that they have to burn their midnight oils in conceptualizing such presentation. It is a task too for teachers to creatively conceptualize activities that will help them go out of the box they were used too.Our role is to encourage everyone…but…the very first task for us to do is to be motivated ourselves…..to accept that every conceptualized lesson is worth it. It is not about teaching the basic facts of each subject but in remembering that we were able to learned it the extra-ordinary ways. In the end, when we achieved positive learning. We must always remember that our students our little helpers too. So never let a single soul be forgotten and left behind… We must be that Genuine Rabbi who continuously and selflessly working in the VINEYARD CALLED TEACHING.
