One of the most highlighted reforms in education being discoursed nowadays is the implementation of K-12 program. Huge volume of reactions sprouted when the government announced the plan. A lot of people extended their viewpoints and stand. There are also numerous oppositions especially the parents who will be most affected since it is an additional expense on their part. Now that we are on the verge of embracing it, we cannot help but to look forward for its sweet success. Modesty aside, this program entails a lot of advantages on the part of the learners. Senior High school graduates are now qualified for employment. Graduates can now have better earnings because they are fully equipped with the competencies they need to be employed. With this, it will also provide them an opportunity to accept high paying jobs rather than setting for low income jobs such as vendor, nanny, porter, construction worker and so on just to help their families. Viewing it up on a broader spectrum, the government is giving us a permanent solution against poverty. This program aims to especially the poor who cannot send their children in a 4- year course to have an opportunity to create their own business or to be employed in a much better job. The additional 2 years will be maximized in flourishing the skills and competencies of the students in the market they are inclined to or passionate about. In these additional years, it is centered on application not theories. It is a mere preparation of the realm of reality. However, students have the option to pursue for higher studies. In my own point of view, K-12 is not additional years but a minus 2 years for those who cannot afford to avail the 4 year course. It is a great help for the parents who are waiting to be decrease the burden that they have on their back because already have the capacity to have a decent job. In this way, the government is not only uplifting the socio- economic status of each Filipino but it also help the countrymen to be dignified by work and by actions especially in the international industry. This may be new but as we seek new ventures to alleviate the nation, we cannot help but to keep abreast with the reforms that aims to enhance the current and existing ideas which can be a stepping stone in achieving the best version of ourselves and of our country as a whole.
