The Covid- 19 health crisis has brought a manifold of changes in the way we conduct our endeavors. Schools and offices closed. Business establishments, production machines were silenced; busy runways, streets, and parks rested. Only the hospitals and health facilities and media seem to be alive. Almost everything become motionless; as if the world needs a deep healing state. Along with its dormancy, we can surmise that one thing is common to all the happenings above, CHANGE. A multitude of transitions that impose a great impact on our lives. As teachers, we are one of the many that really feel the overwhelming transformation in the education sector. The agency never ceases to plan, craft and implement programs to capacitate us. Unceasing the efforts of the agency is, in its commitment to serve quality instructions to the Filipino youth and so we are as the valiant and heroic front liners in education. This thought is just timely and connected to the celebration of the “National Heroes Day” on August 30. Not only the heroes of the past be remembered and emulated but also the living and vigorous individuals, the teachers. Those who are facing and braving the atrocities of the corona virus. As our agency, Department of Education (DepEd) stands with us, we will be joining and involving ourselves in all its programs and projects. With that we can truly consider ourselves as noble. The status of nobility does not only lie on the title, position nor rank but it is defined by the character and ideals of a true teacher. Teachers whose thoughts and feelings are guided by best intentions of the heart. Teachers who are armed with skills and strategies by consciously upskilling themselves by various professional development and trainings. Teachers who are always willing to endure the painful and arduous tasks so they can successfully to translate learning to the Filipino learners. By putting into practice all of these teachers’ attributes in the current global health crisis, everyone must look up to us, as teachers as we take pride to be one and join DepEd’s “battle cry”, “Sama-sama sa PagSULONG ng EduKALIDAD!
