AGENDA supports AC's programs on environment, watershed

-

ANGELES CITY ---- The Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA) showed their all-out-support to the city government's series of tree planting activities in the Watershed.

This is part of Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr.'s aim to conduct massive reforestation in the Angeles City Watershed, overseen by his Chief Adviser IC Calaguas.

Recently, Mayor Lazatin with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel inspected the watershed to check on the 30 stewards and monitor the status and development of trees being planted there.

Flordeliza Santos, AGENDA President, said the program to plant 45,000 more trees in the watershed is proof that Mayor Lazatin is taking care of all aspects of life of Angeleños.

"Napakaganda po ng proyekto. Sa lahat ng aspeto po talaga ay inaalagaan ng ating butihing mayor ang syudad," Santos said. "Asahan po ninyo na kaisa po ninyo ang AGENDA sa mga programang gayang ni t o."

The AGENDA personnel conducted their tree planting activity today, Sept. 3, in the watershed with members of City Social Welfare and Development Office, Angeles City Sports Office, and City Li br ar y.

This is also a testament, she added, that Lazatin's leadership is for all.

"Ang Tree Planting Activity po na ito ay isang pagpapatunay na ang kanyang liderato ay pangkalahatan," Santos furthered.

According to her, despite the pandemic we are facing, the local chief executive still ensures that programs for the preservation of the nature and environment are being implemented.

"Sa kabila ng pandemya at iba pa niyang trabaho ay nagagawa pa nyang pagandahin at palawigin and kalagayang pangkalikasan ng ating lungsod," Santos said.

She then cited Calaguas with City Environment and Natural Resources Office for supervising the series of tree planting activities in the watershed, as well all the City Hall employees for their participation.

"Sa ngalan po ng AGENDA kami po ay nagpapasalamat kay Mayor Pogi Lazatin at sa bumubuo ng CENRO sa pagkakataon na kami po ay maging bahagi ng napakagandang proyekto na ito," Santos said.

"Maraming salamat din po sa ating mga empleyado na lumahok at lalahok pa sa ating tree planting activity," she added.

On behalf of AGENDA, Santos is also encouraging her kababayans to join the event, saying this will make a great impact to the city's efforts to protect and maintain the environment for Angeleños.

"Hinihikayat po ng AGENDA ang inyong paglahok.. Ang inyong oras at partisipasyon po ay malaking tulong sa pagpapaganda at pagpapabuti ng ating lungsod," she said.

To recall, Mayor Lazatin has asked government employees here to adopt a portion of the city's watershed to further its campaign for massive reforestation via rotational basis thru Memorandum Order No. 1114 for this directive.

"Tayo dapat sa City Hall ang laging manguna sa mga programang inilulunsad natin," Lazatin said.

"What we are doing is not simply initiating a tree planting or an accomplishment on paper, but a commitment and investment for the future of Angeles City and Angeleños," he added.

The memo states that the move, including the adoption of the community garden program, will be included in the Individual and Division Performance Commitment and Review.
