DSWD, ICAB gather experts to discuss child welfare services under new normal
CLARK FREEPORT-The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with the InterCountry Adoption Board (ICAB) and the Association
of Child Caring Agencies of the Philippines (ACCAP), is set to conduct the 16th Philippine Global Consultation of Child Welfare Services.
The global consultation will run from September 3 to 28, 2021 via online vi deo con f er enci ng.
Happening every two years, the global consultation will serve as a venue to discuss issues and share information to improve the placement and adoption of Filipino children, as well as to strengthen the coordination between the Philippines and the receiving country to ensure the best interest of adopted children during the new normal setting.
“The department [DILG] will continue to watch over and support the LGUs including providing technical assistance to make the transition of local governments to full devolution a success,” Fabia said.
She also reminded the LGUs to ensure the proper prioritization of programs, projects, and activities depending on the situation and needs of their locality. The DILG will also conduct a series of coaching sessions to oversee the formulation of DTPs and suggest necessary adjustments to the plans.
