534 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— The Department of Health (DOH) recorded some 534 new confirmed cases of coronaviru­s infections in Pampanga, including Angeles City, for September 19, Sunday, in one the of highest single day increase in the province since the start of the pandemic.

This brings the total confirmed cases in Pampanga to 59, 077 according to the DOH’s official coronaviru­s tracker. Total active cases in the province are currently at 4,700 cases while the number of recoveries is at 52,890 of the total number of confirmed cases.

Some 1 487 people have died of the virus since the start of the pandemic according to the DOH Tracker report.

In the last 14 days, some 4,422 new cases have been recorded in Pampanga alone. Pampanga, which has the second highest case incidence and deaths in the region, also reported some 65 deaths from the virus in the last 14 days.

Of the 47 health facilities in Pampanga, only 294 of the 1,475 beds are currently available. The province’s bed occupancy rate is currently at 80 percent. This means that the bed occupancy rate in some 22 facilities in the province is at a critical level while eight are at a high risk of no longer being able to accommodat­e more patients.
