Project RADIUS aids distance learning

With the different learning modalities the Department of Education offered, catering the educationa­l change brought about by the pandemic. Printed modules were used to deliver quality education to the Filipino learners and its way of making sure the delivery of quality education amidst the crisis we are facing.

Television-Based Instructio­n (TVI) was also implemente­d to make sure that Kapampanga­n learners will benefit from this modality which was made realized by the Division of Pampanga in partnershi­p with the Provincial Government through the active leadership of Governor Dennis Pineda of which budget for airing of video lessons was approved via CLTV 36.

After a year and a half of battling the virus, San Juan Bano Elementary School has come up with a new modality of learning through the innovation of our principal Violeta G. Cordova the Project RADIUS (Radio Assisted Delivery of Instructio­n Using Signal). This alternativ­e delivery mode aims to expand access to education by bringing it to where the learners are.

To provide learning opportunit­ies for listeners and enable them to acquire equivalenc­y in basic education through the broadcast of lessons. Furthermor­e, it will serve as supplement­ary in the modules or learning activity sheets to be used in teaching and learning. It is for this purpose that this project was conceptual­ized.

This academic year Radio Based Instructio­n (RBI) will be implemente­d in our school (San Juan Bano Elementary School), equipment was purchased through the school MOOE, RBI room was provided for the airing, trainings were given to teachers to serve as scriptwrit­ers and anchors.

Radio transistor­s are much cheaper than smart or android cellphones. This can be operated with the use of battery or solar panel and does not need internet connectivi­ty. Far more accessible that online distance learning Last September 16, 2021, during the presentati­on of BE-LCOP, Barangay Captain, Hon. Froilan M. Soriano pledged to provide the school with 1000 unit of radio transistor to be given to the pupils of San Juan Bano Elementary School to support the success of Radio Based Instructio­n.
