Angeles mayor lobbies for 10-K vax supply per day

-

ANGELES CITY— In order to fast track the inoculation of Angeleños, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., is lobbying to get an allocation of 10,000 vaccines a day from the national government.

Lazatin made the appeal to vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., also the Chief Implementer of National Task Force against COVID-19 on October 4, 2021 during the Resbakuna event at SM City Clark.

Galvez is also with Deputy Chief Implementer Secretary Vivencio Dizon during the event.

“Sa pagkakataong ito, ako po ay nakikiusap sa ating vaccine czar, Sec. Galvez, [at Sec. Dizon], na kung maaari po ay mabigyan ang Angeles City ng allocation na 10,000 na bakuna, lalong lalo na po para sa first dose,”

Lazatin said.

“Nang sa gayon po, patuloy na mapabilis ang pagbabakuna sa mga Angeleños. Rest assured that the Angeles City Government is one with the national government in finally eradicating the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.

Angeles City now records an average of 10,000 inoculations a day, via the blended vaccination schemes Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay and Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay programs of the city government, with 400 staff working non-stop led by IC Calaguas, Lazatin’s Chief Adviser and Chief Implementer of the city’s vaccination program.

“Sa katunayan po, an average of 10,000 residents of the city are being inoculated in a day via the Ronda and Sundo Bakuna sa barangay programs,” Lazatin said.

The Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay is the delivery of vaccination service right at the doorsteps of Angeleño families using three mobile bus clinics, while the Sundo Bakuna

sa Barangay program picks up Angeleños from barangays and takes them to the city’s two mega vaccination sites with free services being provided — six Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys.

To date, 180,320 Angeleños already received their

155,831 are already fully vaccinated.

“Kayang-kaya po nating makapagbakuna ng 10,000 Angeleños kada araw dahil na rin po sa walang kapagurang serbisyo ng 400 staff ng Angeles City Government,” Lazatin said.

If the request of Lazatin is granted and the city is able to finish the vaccination of all Angeleños, he vowed to assist nearby cities and towns in their inoculation roll-out through the lending of three mobile bus clinics and vaccination teams of the city government.

“As the Mayor of Angeles City, nangangako po ako that once we have inoculated all Angeleños, handa pong ipahiram ng siyudad ang mga mobile vaccination buses at maging ang mga working staff sa mga karatig-bayan upang tulungan po sila sa kanilang pagbabakuna,” Lazatin said.

Lazatin also recognized the importance of the launched VaxCertPH of the Department of Health with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).

The VaxCertPH serves as the country’s vaccine certificate system for Overseas Filipino Workers and Filipinos going abroad.

“Sa inilunsad naman po ngayon na VaxCertPH, lalo po itong makakatulong na matukoy ang mga kababayan nating nangangailangan ng agarang proteksyong bakuna, partikular na ang ating mga OFWs,” Lazatin said.

Also present during the event were Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Benjamin Abalos Jr., Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, and SM Supermalls President Steven Tan. first dose of vaccines while
