THANKFUL WE HAVE ICT

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the education sector plays vital role nowadays. Almost every task given to a teacher requires ICT. The inception of ICT in schools, students found learning in a technology enhanced environment more stimulating and engaging than in a traditional classroom environment. Even before pandemic, students prefer computer aided instruction (CAI) rather that looking at lessons written on manila papers. ICT plays a catalytic role in enhancing learning in classroom and beyond. Nowadays, learning uses ICT. Modular making requires the use of ICT. Lay-out of the content of modules carefully crafted by teachers to attract the students to read their self learning kits utilizes computers and technology. Moreover, almost all activities now are done virtually ansd requires a mastery of the use of different applications in ICT.
Looking at the present scenario of education, many changes have taken place especially in the teaching-learning to assessment and evaluation.Information and communication technologies are extremely influencing every discipline including Education. It is affecting every aspect of education from teaching-learning to assessment and evaluation. It improves the effectiveness of education. It aids literacy movements. It enhances scope of education by facilitating mobile learning and inclusive education. It facilitates research and scholarly communication. Impact of ICT and its potential for the education field is manifold.A judicious use of ICT technologies together with new functions and roles of education personnel can bring about more efficient and effective teaching learning-process. Despite the situation today, we are fortunate and thankful that we have been blessed with ICT, hence we were able to communicate and continue to work even on the comforts of our homes.
Everything must have happened for a reason, who might have thought that the long trainings and workshops that we had on ICT will be valuable at this point. So we should always be open to different learnings because all that we learn will be utilized maybe not now but always at the right time.
