EDUCATION UNDER THE NEW NORMAL

Sulung Edukalidad is the battle cry of the Department of Education on moving forward on the challenges we are facing towards quality education.

It focused on four key result areas on how to achieve desired goals of schools.

K to 12 CURRICULUM: As early as June 2020 Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan was introduced in the field wherein all stakeholders where given the roadmap on how are we going to adhere to the challenges bought by the health pandemic to our education setting.

Furthermore, Learning Delivery Modality Course 1 and 2 for both teachers and school administrators were launched to better equip them with the preferred modality. Said modality are all culture-based, economy-based and flexible to the current set up under the new normal. It should be more responsive to the going health crisis affecting our learners.

IMPROVEMENT OF LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: Under the new normal the traditional classroom was transform into virtual classes and HOMEROOMS. It took a 360 degree change wherein classrooms last 2019 are far more different on the classrooms of the current situation.

It redefined a classroom wherein homes were transformed as laboratories for learning, expositions and sources of any relevant valuable information, knowledge and intelligence to all learners.

Used of valuable high technologies which are synonymous to advance information are the genre of fast learning of basic education.

TEACHERS’ UPSKILLING AND RESKILLING: This period can be considered the most important crossroad of teachers’ involvement towards progress in education. It is a flight or fight on the part of the teachers. Are they going to compete or retreat! If they cannot compete to the growing challenges of this modern delivery of education they need to resign.

If they are to fight they need to enhanced, improved and upgrade their teaching skills which are responsive to the current scenario we are facing right now.

ENGAGEMENT OF ALL STAKEHOLDERS: It will take the entire village to educate a child. Our government cannot do it alone. We need everybody’s help. Parent lovingly gave their valuable assistance to cater their children’s learning needs
