Politicking in Education

Politicking could make or break something or someone. Definitely, it is of dealing about merit than dealing with affiliations or politics. Dealing with merits than of the affiliations or politics could mean getting the best and serving the purpose of what needs to be done.

It is better to choose based on merit since it is choosing on who or what stands out among the rest. Rankings, biddings, and other forms of selection processes would be better if selection committee will choose the best and not the ones that was suggested or recommended by someone or somebody. Surely, taking the most outstanding means getting the one that strived hard to reach the top spot which totally means getting the best for the position or choice.

Settling down to something recommended would only mean satisfying your trust to the people who recommended the thing. Good if the ones being recommended are also good on their craft, but one is not certain since you just considered the statements of the recommending individual or worse the other benefits if the selection committee agrees to the recommending individual without actually following the process. Indeed, choosimg the political side means trying to avoid due process and blinding oneself to the possibility of choosing the best.

These things means a lot in education. In promotion, choosing the best means choosing the one that could offer the best quality eduaction and uplifting the educational system or processes. Those who are in the position to choose should bear in mind the long term impact of their choices. It is also quite best to consider that in the educational system, people come and go, and so better settle for the best interest of the educational system than in granting the requests of people around us.
