BAGTECH Partners with Sure Values School, Inc. for Reading Program Launching

Bro. Andrew Gonzalez Technical High School has partnered with Sure Values School, Inc. in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, to launch the Reading in Tandem 2021, a reading program of BAGTECH, during the Brigada Eskwela (BE) on October 6, 2021.Cornele L. Tayag, the School Head of BAGTECH, said that they had seen the BE as an ideal launching venue because of its advocacy for improving the learners' literacy skills, particularly reading comprehension.
In addition, the Sure Values School, Inc. is known for its excellent literacy program and curriculum implementation. Before the implementation, the two schools signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the detailed conduct of the reading program that will last for a year.
Rhea Joy I. Arcilla witnessed the signing, BE Coordinator, and Leah P. Meneses, ASP Coordinator Mrs. Ludina G. Goco, the school principal of Sure Values School, Inc., who stated that it would feature reading enhancement and communication skills improvement for the 51 grade 7 learners.
Sir Cornele L. Tayag said the Reading in Tandem program is anchored on 3Bs (Bawat Bata Bumabasa) and PHIL-IRI of the Department of Education relative to Regional Memorandum No. 289 s. 2021. It will commence on October 18, 2021 and will be conducted through online distance learning twice a week.
Teachers were assessed using the Assessment Tool for Teachers' Foundational Knowledge in Teaching Reading. The results revealed that 94 % of the teachers are ready and capable of teaching reading. Another finding showed that teachers have an excellent way of teaching reading across learning areas and grade levels. Other stakeholders involved in the Reading Program are parents, NGO/NGA, private individuals, corporations, non-teaching personnel, and LGU.
By partnering with Sure Values School, Inc., he said that BAGTECH hopes to encourage the community to be a better reader and better learning amid the pandemic.
