CDC exec named as Mapua’s outstanding alumnus for environmental engineering
CLARK FREEPORT--An executive of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) was recently recognized by the Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) Alumni Association as its outstanding alumnus in the field of environmental engineering.
Engineer Rogelio Magat, manager of the CDC Environmental Permits Division (EPD), was acknowledged for demonstrating “excellence and integrity in his chosen field of endeavor which contributed to the welfare of his profession, the community, and the country.”
Magat was recognized during the 32nd Grand Alumni Virtual Homecoming organized by MIT Civil Engineer Environmental Sanitary Engineer (CEEnSE) Alumni Association

MIT CE- En SE Alumni Association Inc., President Engr. Adam Abinales, and First Vice President and Homecoming Chair Engr. Jose Fernandez III conferred the award to Magat.
Magat expressed his gratitude for receiving the award and dedicated his achievement to his family and colleagues in CDC.
Magat holds two licenses as an engineer. He is a certified civil engineer as well as a registered environmental and sanitary engineer. He graduated from MIT with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1989 and another degree in environmental and sanitary engineering in 1990. In the same year, he passed both Board Examinations for his degrees.
As manager of CDC – EPD, Magat has led and initiated various programs to preserve the environment in the
Freeport. These include Ban on SingleUse Plastics and Promotion on the Use of Environment-friendly Alternatives, the Accreditation Program for the disposal of Hazardous and NonHazardous Wastes, the Development of Urban Forests, and a CDC Hybrid Eco-Par k among others.
He is also one of the proponents for the formation of the Sacobia Watershed Management Council, and as a strong supporter for encouraging LGUs in Central Luzon to hold Recyclables and Hazardous Waste Collection Events.
A true advocate of environmental preservation, he is affiliated with various organizations that are focused on environmental preservation, sustainability, and development. These include Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers, Inc.
(PSSE) and the Environmental Practitioners Association of the Philippines (EPA) among others. He also serves as a life-long adviser to the EPA after completing his three-year consecutive term as president. Since 2016, he has served as the National Director of the PSSE. Recently, he was also recognized as a “fellow” of the PSSE during its 2021 Annual National Convention.
