EDUCATION under D-VUCAD WORLD

As educators, we may have probably accounted and encountered various and different circumstances relative to the adoption and implementation of education in a worldwide setting. Different perspectives even emerged along the way. Some did say that the education of our generation is somewhat really deteriorating. Some said that there will come a time that I will be no longer needed and disappear like bubbles in the air. These are just some of the beliefs or understanding of people with different viewpoints in life. These perceptions may be considered as the DVUCAD in education where it stands for Disruption, Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity and Diversity.

Education in our country is placed and undergone different unstable conditions/ situations. Various programs relative to curriculum implementation came into just like K to 12. Meaning, there were in and out programs. Most of the time when there are changes in the curriculum, there will be always changes or adjustment in terms of implementation and everything follows. There may be cascaded information which are insufficient due to lack of preparations probably. Since it was not planned properly, it would be difficult to predict possible and necessary actions to address the emerging needs. If that is the case, such condition may result complex situations due to intertwined and huge information which cannot be understood evidently. When things or information are not planned sufficiently and not explained comprehensively, these would certainly create obscurity. But there are things that could possibly happen just like in the health crisis, amidst the well planned targets or activities. The education in our setting was even put into trial and about to be discontinued. Good enough that we have these people in the department that they did not allow that certain to happen. Even within the diversity, we need to work as one in a unified route just to continue the education of our school children.

The world health crisis had brought greater challenges in the Department of Education which placed the department in the middle of the D-VUCAD scenario but it stood firmly and remained resilient and steadfast led by the committed and dedicated Secretary of DepEd, Madam Leanor Magtolis. This pandemic had transported huge changes and greater adjustments in our education set up but the devoted and faithful personnel were not shaken instead they positively pushed through the education of our children. Everybody is very hopeful that the things we have now brought about by this health crisis will come to an end.

Lesson learned from the scenario under the D-VUCAD world, we have to be tough and persistent so that everything can be worked on fully and further under the significance and influence of optimism.
