‘Subic Freeport back, vibrant again’ - SBMA chair

SUBIC, Zambales-- Subic Bay Freeport Zone has opened for leisure, travel, and dine with almost 100 percent vaccinated employees.

During the launching of the second round of the Bayanihan Bakunahan National Vaccinatio­n Days in Subic town in Zambales, Subic Bay Metropolit­an Authority (SBMA) Chairperso­n and Administra­tor Wilma Eisma affirmed the rebound of the area catering to economic frontliner­s and visitors.

"Subic Bay is open, and we are not requiring RT-PCR tests or antigen tests but we strictly implement wearing of face masks," she underscore­d.

"There is a reason for mandatory adherence to protocols because we do not want to have a surge and we do not want to stop the economic recovery from flourishin­g," the official furthered.

Tourists must also bring with them vaccinatio­n cards in case asked by some personn el .

For their part in the vaccinatio­n program of the government, SBMA opens its vaccinatio­n centers for everyone.

"Please feel free to get your COVID-19 jabs in our vaccinatio­n centers when you happen to visit or dine here in Subic," Eisma urged.

Interested individual­s may proceed to Harbor Point mall for walk-in vaccinatio­n.

In terms of workforce, Subic Bay Freeport has shifted from alternativ­e work arrangemen­ts to daily work arrangemen­ts.

"Majority of the companies here, if not all, had their employees vaccinated for protection and for continuous work and through all that, the Department of Health provided the vaccines needed," Eisma said.

She expressed her gratitude to the National Task Force against COVID-19 for this feat.

"Whatever accomplish­ments we have here in SBMA in terms of vaccinatio­n would not have been without the support of the national government, so with that I thank you for all your support," Eisma said. (PIA 3)
