200 Tarlac Aetas vaccinated

CLARK FREEPORT --- More than 200 Aetas residing at the upland sitio of Dueg in San Clemente Tarlac receive COVID 19 vaccines from the provincial government of Tarlac.

Governor Susan Yap said the provincial officials and health personnel finally reached the far-flung village ,situated at the northern part of Tarlac, for the vaccinatio­n program dubbed Bakuna sa Bar angay.

"Ilang beses na po naming pinaplanon­g umakyat dito kaya lang nade-delay o napopostpo­ne siya dahil kapag umulan ay mahirap pong umakyat dito. Ito po ay isang barangay o lugar kung saan ay northern most, bulubunduk­in na po ng San Clemente," the governor said.

Hygiene kits and food packs, and other items were also distribute­d to the tribesmen during the vaccinatio­n.

Yap said 58 percent of the total population in said Aeta village received their first dose of COVID 19 vaccine.

The governor, together with other local officials, at the same time visited the agritouris­m farm Poblacion Sur.

The province initiated the project last year to ensure that every barangay will have sufficient food for the residents in the event of lock down.

"Itong protect na ito ay inumpisaha­n natin last year, September in the midst of COVID 19 [pandemic] dahil ang gusto ko ang bawat barangay mayroong pagkain kapag nag-lock down," Yap sai d.

"So hindi sila umaasa sa mga delata at mga instant noodles. Nag provide po ang probinsiya ng mga seedlings para itanim nilang mga kamatis, talong, okra at iba iba pa," the governor said. "Nagbigay din kami fingerling­s para sa tilapia gayon din mga manok para may kakainin ang mga tao in the midst of the pandemic."
