Assisting Learners this New Normal Education
Marianne U. Pagdilao
The delivery of education must be proactive, accessible, and ongoing planning, implementation, and continuous improvement process that includes frequent communications with parents and the people in the community. Frequent communication to learners and parents can bridge the gap of learning this new normal. Teachers should firmly advocate the importance of education to all learners following the implementation of the different projects, programs, and activities of the Department of Education and the schools. However, to continuously foster this advocacy, teachers should render timely assistance to the learners so that they do not feel alienated from their schoolwork.
Assistance might include educational resources to truly engage, enrich, challenge, and support learners in effectively continuing their academic progress. Learning resources must provide learners with appropriate language services and supports and ensure that rigorous online curricular content is followed. The quality of learning materials should be a priority to make sure that learners learn the appropriate competencies by analyzing the correct contents of the learning resources.
The most important assistance needed by the learners is the attention that they receive from their teachers this new normal. Learners need the utmost guidance from their teachers either through online platforms, phone calls, chats, or text messaging. The kind gesture will not only assist learners but also inspire and make them realize that they are not alone in accomplishing their dreams this new normal.
