New Learning Modality Aid for the Situation that is Full of Uncertainty

The unexpected closure of the schools and cancellation of face-to-face classes have given birth to the exploration of new learning modalities such as distance learning. Here, learning is still being aimed though students and teachers do not meet in the same place or sometimes do not meet at the same time. Learning indeed has become flexible where different approaches are tried to safeguard education in this time of pandemic.

Although, there have been concerns like lack of time to prepare for this emergency shift of the situation, not enough materials and gadgets to be used, and unaware concerned individuals to help and be part of the process, still education continues as it should not stop though the hustle and bustle in the society get difficult.

Two years after the closure of schools, teachers, and students have little by little lessened their clamors on the absence of face-to-face sessions. There are benefits from the new modalities of learning such as being able to manage one’s time and be accountable with given tasks be it in school or at home. Though this is just hoped that it will be temporary, the valuable experiences must be permanently implanted into the minds and hearts of everyone that in every emergency situation, there are good lessons that can be learned about it. The infectious virus may not be diminished yet, at least our will to pursue in the teaching and learning process will become unshaken.
