The Department of Education acknowledges the vital role of teachers in carrying out the teaching-learning process. We are the ones who stand before our class to do the tasks of enlightening learners minds. Providing them with experiences that develops their critical thinking and understanding. We inculcate values and we teach them to understand others, hone their potentials and help them to be the best version of themselves. In our hands place the brainpower that we can either make or break.

Thus, the government is putting a high price in enabling and enhancing teachers’capability to be the arm that will perform the highest calling of building Filipino learners intellect. The state has consistently increase teachers’salary to make their economic status parallel to other professionals. It has also developed the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) to ensure that our educators meet the quality of an excellent teacher for the learners. One of the domains of the PPST deals with teachers’ personal growth and professional development. It is already understood that the authority is putting premium on our growth as a teacher. Different incentives are given to educators to acknowledge the important role we play and the efforts we put in nation building. Grants and scholarships are available for our professional growth. Different symposiums and seminars are launched to better us as a person and as a professional. DepEd ensure our stability as teachers to secure our learners academic, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual development. To be of better service to our country and to serve our calling as teachers we should be giving back to what the government is doing for us. The best way to return the state’s investment in us is to keep on improving ourselves and wholeheartedly embracing the multiple tasks we have us teachers. We must be advancing in our personal growth, we owe it to ourselves to enhance our skills to be of better service to our learners. To professionally develop and seek for higher educational attainment. We should be growing with our learners otherwise we will not be relevant anymore.

Personal development and professional progress are inextricably linked, and pursuing one frequently stimulates the other. Professional development focuses on learning new experiences and abilities that will benefit your present job as well as any future roles you may take on in your career.

You are preparing yourself for increased responsibility by broadening your abilities and thinking forward. There is always more to learn, regardless of your position. Investing in one's professional development demonstrates ambition, self-awareness, humility, and persistence.

Continue growing and developing not only for yourself but for your learners and the institution you serve.
