The Vitality of Learners Home Works
Nowadays, Home works or assignments have been an issue in our country. There have been varied views and opinions of whether to assign extra activities to learners that must be accomplished at home. Other people tend to believe that homework is a burden on the part of the learners and that it steals “bonding time” with family.
But of course, as an educator, I believe that giving homework would have plenty of benefits to our children. Even though grades could be completed and computed without it, still, its significance cannot be underestimated.
Homework serves as follow up to our learners. There are some activities that they cannot accomplish and would be more effectively and comfortably done at home. Furthermore, having homework teaches children to be more responsible with their studies as they would be able to prepare for the next lessons by browsing what they have learned on that day.
Aside from that, homework promotes good study habits. With the presence of internet and gadgets, oftentimes, children just engage their time at home with some addictive games, watching vlogs and the like. But if they have some tasks to accomplish that would require them to open books or do assignments, they would be more productive and more studious.
With all of these being said, I believe that there is nothing wrong with giving assignments to our learners. But for it not to be burden, I may suggest that fellow educators like me must regulate the assignments and make them more enjoyable, interesting and light on the part of the learners so they would still not be deprived of doing other things that they would enjoy as children.
So to maximize the essence of homework, let us be creative and considerate in giving these tasks. In this manner, giving homework would no longer be a sensational issue that needs to argue about.
