What is the significance of integration in teaching? Integration of subjects in other subjects and Interconnection of lessons in some subjects give a wider view of the subject and the lesson. Teachers’resourcefulness and creativity is very much important in integrating lessons. Reading, for instance, is integrated in all subjects for it must be practiced and enriched. In Science, reading of concepts or background information should always have comprehension to proceed in the discussion.

No lesson will be understood without reading. Commonly used Science words in the grade level can be the sight words for struggling readers. Difficult terms should always be read and unlocked to clear the way in introducing a new lesson. So. there is always integration of reading in teaching Science subj ect ,

It’s time to teach reading! Teachers choose the most appropriate materials for the learners to read. Science Trivias can be a good choice. Reading will be so much fun even for the struggling readers because Science is an interesting subj ect .

Children get amazed when they read trivias most especially Science trivias. Colorful pictures also attract the readers of trivias. Reading Science trivias can be a part of the daily routine before presenting lessons. It could catch the interest of the learners that they will always have something to look forward to in attending their Science class.

The learners can also be assigned to make their own compilation of trivias and later on share in class, they can exchange with their other classmates.Hence. Reading and Science are good to integrate because they go together and they contribute a lot in the learning of the children.

The Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are also developed and strenthened. They are equally significant particularly in the application of skills in everyday life.
