“I AM A TEACHER LEADER”

What exactly does it entail to be a teacher leader? A teacher leader values both student teaching and mentoring of other teachers. Peer teachers have the highest influence in terms of influencing school-wide change. Teacher leaders are role models both inside and outside their classrooms. Curriculum, instruction, classroom management, professional development, mentorship, data coaching, and continuous improvement programs are some areas in which a teacher's work may entail offering individual or group support.
The teacher's leadership structure may be codified or may evolve spontaneously into a supportive role. Teachers can be role models for optimal practices, allowing them to be leaders. "Teacher leadership involves leading within and outside the classroom." Other teachers observe what their teachers do and can become influencers.
Teachers' abilities are important, but they aren't necessarily transferable from one to the next. One of the most common misconceptions about teacher leadership is that colleagues believe they should be led similarly to the teachers they are mentoring. Teacher leaders know how to get things done.
A school principal's role is unquestionably significant, but you don't have to be one to make a difference at your school. Educators must understand what it takes to be a leader and how to lead others using their skills and knowledge. Teacher leaders are the catalysts for change in their classrooms. I'm a teacher leader!
