ANOTHER CHALLENGE TO FACE
Angela V. Asuncion
The sudden transition from face-to-face to modular distance learning has affected not just students and parents, but also educators. It is difficult to prepare for this type of educational system as there are several factors which are needed to be considered. First and foremost, is the current situation of every student and teacher. Second is the protocols which are needed to be implemented. With that, teachers had to attend a variety of seminars and workshops in order to provide a high-quality education to future professionals.
This isn't all; they also have to prepare a number of modules and reports, which they must submit weekly, monthly, or on a regular basis. They must also ensure that all children receive a good education, and they must determine which students require further guidance and attention. Face-to-face classes are difficult for teachers, but this new typical type of education presents them with a new challenge.
They are not just a teacher, but also a member of their own family. Their daily lives do not revolve solely around their school work. They have responsibilities for their family, just like any other parents or students. They have and must spend time with people who can support and strengthen them as well.
It is not and will never be easy to suddenly adapt to the changes while having different responsibilities in their work and home. Hence, the Department of Education as well as the teachers or educators are doing their best just to provide the best quality education to the students who have dreams to pursue. All their efforts and sacrifices are meant not only for themselves but for the betterment of our nation and the whole world in general.
At this time, all of us are struggling and are adjusting to the new system. That is why it is important to understand that each one of us is going through different challenges in life. What we have to do right now is to discipline ourselves and look at the different sides of the coin. No one finds these changes easy, so our understanding of each other’s situation is very important. Students and parents find these changes challenging and so are the teachers. All of these difficulties, however, will eventually be replaced by success soon.
