PNR Clark Phase 1 to reduce travel time

CLARK FREEPORT --- Travel time from Tutuban in Metro Manila to Malolos in Bulacan province will be reduced from one and a half hours to only 35 minutes once the PNR Clark Phase 1 is completed and becomes operationa­l.

Thus said Transporta­tion Secretary Arthur P. Tugade who recently led the inspection of the first 8car train set which will be used in the railway system.

"Oras na matapos ang PNR Clark Phase 1, magiging 35 minutes na lamang ang travel time mula Tutuban, Manila patungong Malolos, Bulacan mula sa current 1.5 hours," the Department of Transporta­tion (DoTr) chief said.

Together with other DOTR officials, Tugade inspected the train's driver's cab, CCTV screen, braking controller, horn, air condition system, passenger informatio­n display, seats, luggage racks and other features.

The DOTR officials assured that the PNR Clark trains are world-class, clean and efficient.

Tugade said a total of 58 train sets will run all throughout the North South Commuter Railway ( NSCR) fr om Cl ar k Internatio­nal Airport to Calamba in Laguna province.

The constructi­on of PNR Clark Phase 1 and PNR Clark Phase from Malolos to Clark is now in full swing, the official added.

Tugade lauds the contractor­s of the project for their commitment to finish the project as soon as possible.

"I'm comfortabl­e and because you finished your commitment. Let's finish this project. Let's try to make it memmorable for President Rodrigo Duterte when he comes. So, that for a longer time we will always be friends and happier with Sumimoto," the DOTR chief added.
