CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Apalit intensified programs for the youth amid the ongoing health crisis.

In today’s episode of Network Briefing News, SK Municipal Federation President Allen Dungo shared that they have been assisting the municipal government in providing relief aid to Apaliteños at the height of the Covid19 pandemic.

“At the start of the pandemic, we [SK Chairpersons] discussed how we can aid our constituents. As part of our Covid19

response efforts, we distributed food packs and hygiene kits like alcohol and face masks to the youth as protection against the virus. We also helped in repacking and in the distribution of relief goods to our constituents in Apalit,” he said.

Meanwhile, to aid students under the new normal, Dungo added that they also distributed school supplies to public schools in the town including bond papesr, printers, and ink that the students can use for their modu l es.

“To ensure continuity of education amidst this crisis, our SKs also provided educational assistance to high school and college students,” he said.

The SK official also shared about the ongoing construction of a skate park in Apalit as one of the federation’s priority p r o j ect s.

“We have plenty of youth in our town who skate so they requested for a skate park and our mayor, Mayor Jun Tetangco, did not hesitate to have it built. This will also help distract the youth from harmful vices,” he shared.

Another priority project this year,

Dungo added, is the improvement of the Villena Covered Court in Barangay San Vicente, where repair of the electrical lines, drainage system, and courtside fencing will be done to prepare for events in the new normal.

The federation is also conducting clean-up drives and tree planting as part of its regular activities.

Meanwhile, Dungo reminded the youth to remain obedient in following the minimum health standards and to never be complacent to prevent the spread of Covid-19. (PIA 3)
