G.R.E.a.T WOMEN
Adalina C. Pidor
Globally, women have fewer opportunities for economic participation than men, less access to basic and higher education, greater health and safety risks, and less political representation.
Empowered women and girls contribute to the health and productivity of their families, communities, and countries, creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone, ensuring that women have the same rights and giving them the same chances to reach their full potential in their jobs and responsibilities.
Every year, the whole world celebrates International Women's Month in March to give recognition to all women.
Our school, Rio Tuba Central School, Bataraza District II, Division of Palawan, MIMAROPA Region, has proposed a project/activity in line with our Annual Accomplishment Plan entitled "G.R.E.a.T. WOMEN". The acronym G.R.E.a.T. stands for Generous, Respected, Enthusiastic, and Trusted Women.
In connection with the yearly celebration of women, Rio Tuba Central School (RTCS) celebrated International Women's Month last March 10, 2022, with the theme "Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran." The participants of this activity are all teaching and non-teaching personnel of Rio Tuba Central School. Mrs. Arlene G. Gulay is our guest and resource speaker. As the overall organizer of this activity and at the same time the school's Gender and Development (GAD) coordinator, I prepared a matrix of activities. Everyone’s faces were so happy. All are encouraged to involve themselves in the whole day's activities. Everyone realized how important the role of women was.
Considering gender equality, societies should consider appropriate treatment for all women and girls in the world. Women have the same power and have the same chances for financial independence, education, and personal growth as men.
