CANVA: Online Tool for Teaching and Learning
Krislene Ida N. Mercado
Powerpoint out, Canva in! This user-friendly and amazing online application can be your best friend in teaching. It's an online graphic design tool that makes the design process easier. It includes free poster, educational presentation, and video templates, as well as worksheets, flyers, infographics, brochures, flashcards, certificates, and other media. As a teacher and a graphic designer, this benefits me to create presentations easily, compellingly, and engagingly for my students and posters for our school page announcement. Furthermore, Canva is great for editing videos -- such as trimming and adding background music, as well as recording oneself while presenting a lesson.
Teachers can add their own pictures and videos, which is especially useful when using the app version on a smartphone. Afterwards, they can then download the file, post it via a variety of social media platforms, or submit it to a professional print service to be printed. There are also stock photographs, films, and graphics accessible, with hundreds of thousands of options to choose from.
Another incredible use of this online app is that teachers can create their classrooms in Canva in the same way they can in Google Classroom. Once the teacher has added the features and templates to his or her Canva classroom, the students will have free access to all of them. Also, teachers can collaborate with their pupils, and studentto-student collaboration is also supported.
Educators, school administrators, and students can use Canva for free. Yes, you read that correctly. Canva's mission is to empower every classroom, every teacher, and every student, especially in this new normal, thus it's free. As a result, Canva for Education was founded. They invest in education because it aligns with their core value of "Be a Force for Good," and they wanted to help the Philippines' and the world's educational systems. Canva for education is a premium version of Canva that gives you access to their free educational templates, images, graphics, fonts, music, and the like
Canva for Education is open to K-12 teachers, college professors, librarians, administrators, and school clerks. To gain access, all they need to do is register with Canva using their school or specialty email domains (edu.ph, deped.gov.ph, ph.education) as their email address. Voila! They are instantly accepted and enjoy Canva for free. While for school personnel, district, and school administrators, who use personal email addresses, they must first create a free Canva account, then go to www.canva.com/ education/ and select "Contact us." Then after answering all the questions, approval will be sent to their e-mail.
Indeed, all teachers, school administrators, and student will benefit significantly from this powerful tool. As a result, teachers, students, and school officials can craft and present professional and pleasing presentations. Canva is a great and practical learning tool that encourages student collaboration and visual communication in general.
