TECHNOLOGY: A SUPPORT TO EDUCATION

TRIXY LARA U. SUBA

-

Technology plays a significant role in improving the way that classroom lessons are presented. Since the last few centuries, numerous technologies have been created. The first practical telescope developed in the 17th century is an illustration of this. It functioned as a crucial tool for astronomy students. The typewriter that came next helped bring about a significant shift in the way that reading material was developed, making it quicker and more efficient. The computer has quickly replaced other teaching tools as the main method of instruction in the twenty-first century.

Depending on the subject or subjects being studied, several types of technology are used in class. The straightforward projector was employed in meetings and classrooms for students in the second half of the 20th century. It can magnify the graphics to make the teachers' examples easier to see. Computers with internet connectivity, however, are the most common and fundamental tool utilized in teaching today.

In the Philippines, the majority of schools, particularly the private ones, already have computers with internet connectivity. All the computers are grouped in what is known as a computer laboratory. This has made acquiring information more practical and simpler. Because of the internet, teachers can more efficiently disseminate their lessons.

We may conclude that technology greatly aids in the advancement of numerous knowledge and educational facets. But we must keep in mind that proper usage is required. Let's refrain from misusing technology. When used incorrectly, it might have negative impacts on us.

Teachers and students can benefit greatly from modern technology as long as it is handled responsibly and self-discipline is always employed. Utilize current technology in a way that promotes mental growth and is beneficial for teaching and learning. Always keep in mind that anything in excess is detrimental and acts as a poison to prevent students from achieving their objective of graduating.
