PDEA arrests 2 for illegal drugs
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Luzon scored anew in its anti-illegal drugs operations yesterday, seizing substances prohibited under the law and arresting suspects on the watchlist.
On Tuesday, September 13, the PDEA and Customs authorities in Clark seized in a controlled delivery operation some 35 grams of high-grade-type of cannabis (marijuana) from the US from a female claimant.
In a report furnished SunStar Pampanga, PDEA identified the apprehended claimant as one Johanna Claire Clarion, a resident of Blk 14-D Lot 8, Labahita St., Barangay Longos, 1472 Malabon City.
Authorities said that the subject package from the USA arrived last September 5, 2022 at Port of Clark and was declared as "goodies".
"The package underwent X-ray inspection and K9 sniffing that led to the discovery of eight plastic screw cap bottles containing about 35 gram of Kush (high grade cannabis) amounting to P45,500," the PDEA said in its report.
The controlled delivery operation was jointly conducted by operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, Clark Inter Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, PDEA-NCR NDO and Bureau of Customs Port of Clark.
A case for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the apprehended claimant.
Over in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, the PDEA disclosed that four individuals were collared inside an alleged makeshift drug den that also resulted in the confiscation of P103,500 worth of suspected shabu following an entrapment operation in Barangay Poblacion on September 13.
Another suspect identified as Arnold Baron, 60, a resident of Sapang Biabas, Mabalacat City, Pampanga was arrested.
Charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspects.
