PARENTS AS ESSENTIAL SCHOOL PARTNERS

RONA B. CRUZ

-

“No school can work well for children if parents and teachers do not act in partnership on behalf of the children's best interests” - Dorothy H Cohen

The quote above holds true as we believe that the school goals and mission would not be realized by the teachers alone. Schools need helping hands and great partners for them to perform well, which ultimate beneficiaries would be the learners. Recognizing that parents and teachers are both always aiming what is best for the benefit of their children, they must establish a good partnership so that they could work well and have the school activities achieved. Thus, we must always provide opportunities for parents to engage and to have opportunities to get involved. Knowing that they have contributions for the activities, they would be willing to be of service especially if it is for the interest of their learners. Thus, schools must have an avenue where parents could express their ideas, or even initiate programs and projects. They must feel that they belong and that they are given importance. Also, schools must provide chances for assemblies to keep our valuable stakeholders know the updates and the next activities ahead. Parents are our partners. If there would be best people who shall care about the school, then it would be the parents. Thus, let us value them and make them welcome and involved, then surely, we shall have more minds and hands in collaborating and accomplishing our school programs and projects.
