“SHAPING THE FUTURE THROUGH EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY”

-

ANN OVERLEE C. DE LEON

Education is valued like a treasure. It cannot be taken nor stolen by anyone. That is why many of us want to finish their studies. And this is where technology will be connected. It is considered as our buddy in the continuously growing modern era. Nowadays, education is partnered with E-books instead of the usual thick and old books, Ipads as alternative for notebooks, and televisions and projectors as substitute for blackboards. On the other hand, we cannot deny the fact that technology is growing and improving quickly. With just one click, we can book a flight, we can look for reservations and many more activities. From our personal lives and now even with our educational purposes. But does it really make our lives easier? Another example is when having groupworks like research papers or thesis. Because through the use of social networking sites like Facebook, students don’t have to stay late in the school or in each other’s house for chats and emails. Teachers no longer have to use pieces of chalk and write on the blackboards because the use of televisions and projectors are now being considered. There are different videos and images that they can save to make their discussion more realistic and not boring. These are just some of the advantages of using technology where it makes the work easier and less time-consuming. On the other side, it can affect the student’s performance. There is a possibility that they will be lazy and no longer pay attention. They would all rely on the help of internet and their gadgets. Education and technology are immensely potent tools in carving out the fine lines and details for the future. Having the help of technology in our education is really a big help. But we should always remember to use it wisely and very well. What is important is the knowledge we get and the help it can do in our education.
