Metro Clark celebrates 20 years of waste management service

MABALACAT CITY --The Metro Clark Waste Management Corporatio­n (MCWMC), operator of the first and most advanced engineered sanitary landfill in the country, is set to celebrate its 20th year anniversar­y this coming March 24 at Clark Hilton Bal l r oom .

Chief executives of local government­s in Central and Northern Luzon and Metro Clark's industrial clients are expected to attend the event .

The celebratio­n will also be graced by local and internatio­nal waste management luminaries including heads of agencies in charge of environmen­t and economic zones authoritie­s.

Vicky Gaetos, Executive Vice President of MCWMC, said that they set the event after two decades of providing profession­al waste management services to its wide range of clienteles.

She added that the celebratio­n is their company’s way of expressing their gratitude not only to their host of clienteles but more so with the stakeholde­rs such as the local communitie­s that play host to their waste disposal service operations.

“We owe it all to them, the local communitie­s as well as the hundreds of local government units that supported us throughout the past many years of our existence”, Gaetos sai d.

The event will be highlighte­d by the unveiling of Metro Clark's plans as it “reaffirms its commitment to environmen­tal sustainabi­lity and quality management”.

These include the firm's ongoing developmen­t programs inside the 100 hectare facility located within Clark’s Special Economic Zone in Kalagitan, Capas Tar l ac.

Metro Clark is also laying down specific details on its planned establishm­ent of a first of its kind Integrated-SolidWaste-Management system inside the Kalangitan landfill site, which will feature a Waste-to-Energy (WTE) facility.

Norbert Plambeck of Plambeck Emirates, a global leader in WTE developmen­t program, will be flying in to discuss their company’s partnershi­p in the developmen­t of a multi-billion peso WTE facilities with Metro Clark.

Rufo Colayco, Chairman of Metro Clark’s Execom, will discuss the company’s humble beginnings to where it is today.

Congressma­n Joey Salceda and officials from the Department of Environmen­t and Natural Resources (DENR) will grace the event.

Si n ger Gar y Valenciano will attend the celebratio­n as musical guest.

MCWMC facilities utilize state-of-the-art German technology and best practices. It has been serving more than 150 local government units in Central and Northern Luzon, more than 1,000 industrial clients, and the two major economic zones of Clark and Subic.

The company also boasts of being the only sanitary landfill operator in the country as having MCWM multiple ISO Certificat­ions on Management, Environmen­tal Compliance and Operationa­l Health And Safety.

“Indeed our 2 decades of successful operations is worthy of celebratio­n. A celebratio­n of fulfilled dreams and promises as we faced greater tasks at hand”, Gaetos said.
