FAMILY DAY, HAPPY DAY
FE D. DELA CRUZ
In two-year span of pandemic, it has not only hindered learners the chance to learn but it also stole them the activities that contribute to their development holistically. At present, learners have regained their access to education as schools have returned to face-to-face learning. This also opened the opportunity for them to engage in different learning experiences that they missed upon the existence of COVID-19. Concepcion Integrated School (CIS) has been consistent in conducting activities with the involvement of stakeholders and community. As they firmly believe that school cannot succeed without the support of the community. One of these anticipated events/activities is the celebration of Family Day. This year’s celebration happened on February 25, 2023, with a theme: “Family Day: Pamilyang Cisians na Umaagapay sa Paaralan Bigyan ng Parangal at Kapasalamatan” which focuses on recognizing the remarkable contribution of families to the community and the school. This year, Mr. Arnold Maglanque and his family were chosen as the “Model Family, 2023”. This family has been the partner of the school in its activities and programs since then. CIS has prepared various activities for the families who were divided into five group colors: Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, and White. Each group has prepared a presentation aligned with the theme. There were raffles and games which the families enjoyed. Truly, Family Day reminds everyone to focus our thoughts, energies, and time to those closest to us — the members of our own families. This event gives us an opportunity to reconnect, re-energize, refocus, and share some quality time together. It highlights the important affairs central to the welfare of families. Through the celebration of family day, it improves communication throughout the school community by bringing learners, parents, and teachers in an informal setting. As always, CIS strives its very best to develop learners holistically including activities which enhance their social skills. Family Day was facilitated by the EsP team headed by Ms. Juvy May V. Wagan, the EsP leader.
