The world is changing at a rapid pace, and the traditional path of education and employment is evolving alongside it. To equip our youth with the skills and mindset needed for success, the Department of Education (DepEd), has recognized the need to adapt the education system to meet the changing demands of the 21st-century. One significant aspect of this adaptation is the inclusion of entrepreneurship education in the senior high school curriculum to prepare learners for a future that is characterized by innovation, self-reliance, and economic growth. DEPED's Thrust for Entrepreneurship Education is anchored on its commitment to provide quality education that empowers students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. Teaching Entrepreneurship not only fosters critical thinking and problem solving that encourages students to make informed decisions but also real-world application of theories that offer practical experiences such as creating business plans, managing finances, and marketing products or services. These hands-on experiences prepare students for real-world challenges and opportunities. Another benefit of teaching entrepreneurship is the promotion of financial literacy skills crucial for personal and business success. The entrepreneurial journey is filled with ups and downs. But even during the pandemic, the ability to do business exhibited people’s resilience to changing circumstances. Moreso, the thrust of Deped for a responsible citizenry, self-sufficiency and resiliency teaches learners the importance of dignity in entrepreneurship however big or small the endeavor may be. This ensures that their venture benefit not only themselves but also society at large.
