Winset Jacot, Ssssuper Ka!

Unsay feeling nga more than 1 million views na ang imong kantang “Kung Pwede Na, Kung Pwede Pa” sa YouTube?

- Really unexpected. When we first recorded that song (version 1), we didn’t even expect it would reach 200k views on YouTube. Then my friends and I decided to make a music video (using version 2) nga niabot og 1 million views. Maski inato lang nga productions, gi-embrace gihapon sa tawo.

Ang unang nag-viral nimo ang “Gugma Pa More?”

- Gugma Pa More was my first Bisaya single. The song is special to me because it is the first and last song that I wrote in front of my bedridden grandma.

Please tell us about your brand new song, “Kalipay?”

- Kalipay is one of my personal faves sa 90+ songs nga akong nahimo. I really love the arrangement. Thanks to Viva for choosing Kuya Anjelo to do the magic!

What inspired you to write “Kalipay?”

- After my heartache sa “Kung Pwede Na, Kung Pwede Pa,” I met someone who made me happy and forget the person nga akong gisulatan sa Kung Pwede Na, Kung Pwede Pa. In return, gisulatan sab nako siya’g song. Mao ni ang Kalipay.

Duna kay Tagalog songs?

- Yes, I do have Tagalog songs and Tagalog versions of “Kung Pwede Na, Kung Pwede Pa” and “Gugma Pa More.”

How do you write a song?

- Depende. There are times mag-start ko sa melody. There are times mag-start ko sa lyrics. It depends kung unsay mas una mo pop-up sa akong mind.

Do you already have an album?

- How I wish maka-album na ko. Hehe. Someday. I’m sure Viva will take care of that.

How were you discovered by Viva?

- I was discovered by Viva through my former bandmate Kuya Jigz, who sent demos of my compositions which the band recorded. Then, Ma’am Chiqui from Viva noticed the demo songs. The rest is history.

Unsay biggest break nimo as a composer and singer?

- Biggest break for me is when nahimong theme song sa Dear MOR Nationwide ang “Gugma Pa More.” And also when my song, “Siya Ra Taw’n Ang Nahigugma” featuring Jane Abaday, made it to Vispop 5.0 2017.

Duna kay formal lessons sa music?

- None. But my dad is a musician sa Japan. So it kinda runs in the blood.

Kinsay musical influences nimo?

- Bruno Mars. I love him and his music so much.

What instruments do you play?

- Guitar, ukulele, banduria, flute, lira/lyre, piano.

Unsay gusto nimong maachieve three years from now?

- Ang makasulod sa Himig Handog. #Goal. Nakasulod ko sauna. Top 100 lang taman.

Please invite your fans sa imong upcoming shows.

- Kung makaadto mo og Davao, naa ko sa Abreeza Ayala Mall sa July 8. Palihug support mo nako sa MOR Davao anniversary show anang adlawa. Daghang salamat!
