Nia ang atong Q and A ni Alden Richards nga personal nga nitubag sa mga intriga ug kontrobersiya nga gibato karon sa iyang karakter isip bag-ong superhero nga si Hammerman sa telefantasyang Victor Magtanggol. Iya sad gibutyag ang mga behind-the-scene ug kon unsa pa’y dapat natong atangan sa ilang top-rating telefantasya sa Kapuso Primetime nga makita matag-gabii human sa 24 Oras sa GMA. Do you have official permission from Marvel to do this project?
Wala po, kasi it’s a public domain. Parang yun yung naging concept natin about Thor na it came from Marvel movie. Pero mayroon talagang original bases e, which is the Norse Mythology. It’s the same as the Greeks and the Roman Mythology. So, kami po we just got the concept from Norse Mythology and adopted it to the Filipino concept.
What’s your reaction na copycat daw sa Marvel even yung publicity materials ng Victor Magtanggol?
Actually, it’s all fun art created by our fans and supporters. Ang galing nila! Sobrang nagandahan talaga kami. May nag-create pa nga ng bubble head na Victor Magtanggol at costumes for kids. Kung we get negative comments from that, sana maintindihan nila na mahal din ng ibang tao yung show.
Ano pang dapat abangan sa Victor Magtanggol?
May mga surprised guest stars na hindi puwedeng sabihin. Magbabalik rin yung mom ni Victor Magtanggol sa family, played by Ms. Connie Reyes at magkakaroon na naman ng friction sa bahay kasi yung sister kong si Lynette played by Chynna Ortaleza malaki talagang galit niya sa mom ko. So papasok ulit yung drama element within the family.
Gaano kahirap gawin ang ganitong show?
Sobrang hirap. Siyempre kapag mahaba na yung gabi tapos kailangan pa naming gumawa ng fight scenes ng 2 in the morning, parang nitong huling scene ko na we shot it for 4 hours, na nakaluhod lang while struggling kasi na-bind ako ng isang mythical whip (nga gipagawas niadtong Biyernes). But pag pinanood mo naman sulit po yung pagod.
Why did it take 4 hours?
Ah, complex camera angles e. Ang daming camera angles needed for a certain scene. The post production team requires us a lot of shots para malagay nila ng maganda at mabuti yung effects po nila. That’s the trick of doing a fantasy.
Umabot ba sa point na nasugatan ka?
Mas gusto ko pong nasusugatan e. Umaabot po minsan like ito po sa gloves that I wear. Minsan tumatama yung shin (tuhod) namin. Napalo ko si Pancho (Magno) sa kamay dumugo. Ganoon talaga e. Pero ang sarap paggising mo sa umaga: “uy nakuha ko `to sa fight scene.”
How long did you prepare for this project?
As early as last year I’ve been preparing for this. I even took a workshop in New York. I went to the gym, eat right now than before. I’m into intermittent fasting and also training for different kinds of martial arts, like Parkour and boxing. Kasi yung fight scenes namin hindi regre-rely lang sa double e, we don’t really do that as much.
Ano yung Parkour?
Actually, kami pong lahat sa cast ng Victor Magtanggol we’re into that na para siyang mga obstacles, then we will jump from one point to another. Para siyang child’s play na ang sarap panoorin. We will showcase that in the coming weeks.
Ano yung intermittent fasting?
Kasi we feel deprived when you eat diet food. Sa intermittent, you fast for 16 hours but from 12noon to 8 p.m. you eat anything you like. Ganoon ako e, 8 hours akong kakain and then all throughout the 16 hours, your body is just digesting.
Why do you still need to fast when you’re active all the time?
Kasi I’m still gaining weight. Ngayon nasanay ako na I stop eating na talaga at 8 p.m. It cured my hyperacidity, nawala yung muscle spasms ko, I sleep better now and I’m able to think better kahit puyat.
May future pa ba ang Aldub?
Of course, meron po kasing exploration na parang we decided to take our careers muna separately as individuals to grow, especially siya (Maine Mendoza) for her to gain more experiences, as well. Kasi nakikita ko sa kanya sobrang nag-eenjoy siya with her work now. So para kung gumawa kami ulit ng project, we can offer something new naman.
Pero yung relationship n’yo may nagbago ba?
Wala po. Just the same. Siguro nabawasan lang yung pagkikita namin sa Eat Bulaga. Kasi that’s the only time we see each other kasi busy siya, busy rin ako.
May time ka pa ba sa concert mo?
Oo nga e, tapos naka-fasting pa ako (laughs). I’m doing Victor Magtanggol, I do Eat Bulaga, I have Sunday Pinasaya and then I’m rehearsing for my concert. This is happening on Sept. 21 sa Kia Theatre. We’re actually thinking of bringing in the concert to different provinces and first on the list is Cebu.
What about your lovelife?
Wala pa po talaga. `Di mahanapan ng time. Kasi makauwi nga sa amin di ko magawa. Pero we’ll see. Baka before the year ends… before the years ends.
