Rustan’s partners with NCAA to honour local craftsmanship

Rustan’s, the luxe lifestyle emporium, in collaboration with the National Commission of Culture and Arts (NCCA) and Senator Loren Legarda, celebrated Filipino culture and talent with the Dayaw: Culture and Art Exhibition. Marking a milestone in cultural history, it was a first for NCCA to step into the high-end retail spotlight to showcase an array of classic handwoven products and fabrics. The exhibition included demonstrations of the traditional weaving of Ga-adang cloth and tikog (wild reed stems) mats. Also highlighted were proudly-local Filipiniana and the limited edition home merchandise from “Rustan’s x Bencab Collection,” which showcases embedded artworks like porcelain plates, unconventional mugs, exquisitely-designed cushion covers, and other home accessories by the National Artist Benedicto cabrera.
