Aveda Philippines fuses art and nature in a fundraising activity
In celebration of Earth Month and to continue its worldwide quest for clean water, Aveda, the leading botanical professional salon brand, collaborated with 24 celebrated artists from various fields in an auction for Aveda Light the Way Candle 2016. Personalities like Ito Kish, Maureen DISINI, and ann ong, rendered their creative interpretations of what clean water means to them. Using an Aveda candle as the base material, the artists’ creations were auctioned to benefit Bantay Kalikasan. A standout was Jun Jun ablaza’s “Under the Red Coral Branches” chair, which symbolises the need to protect the oceans. Crafted from a 100-year-old ancient gnarled plantation coffee tree trunk, the art chair was adorned by faux coral branches and an antique glass buoy used as a hanging votive holder. For the past ten years, Aveda Philippines, together with its global network of salons, experience centres, and partners have raised a total of USD$38 million to support clean water projects.
