The Beosound Shape, for instance, combines sound with customisable design and soothing indoor acoustics. This hexagonal, wireless, wall-mounted modular speaker system is popular among interior aficionados as it is easy to incorporate creatively in the design of any room. Depending on the preferred set-up, the combinations of speakers, amplifiers, and acoustic damper tiles can go from six to practically an unlimited number of tiles. The colours available are another plus factor. One can select from a palette that includes Parisian Night Blue, Purple Heart, Infantry Green, Brazilian Clay, Wild Dove Grey, and the classic Black, as well as a selection of wool fabrics and colours by the renowned Danish textile manufacturer, Kvadrat. In terms of sound, the Beosound Shape is designed to create a crisp and precise soundscape with the vocal performer in the centre and the instruments to the sides. Aptly called “Band on the Wall,” this concept aims to produce a sound experience that mimics a band performing live and is literally placed up against the wall.
A high performer with a light footprint, the slender loudspeaker Beolab 50, on the other hand, features Active Room Compensation technology, which uses an external microphone that measures its physical acoustics’ surroundings and applies the ideal
compensation filters to produce optimum sound at your listening positions or throughout the entire room. Applied on top of the speaker is the unique Acoustic Lens Technology—a Bang & Olufsen signature that handles sound dispersion of the upper frequencies. The lens disperses the sound via Beam Width Control into either a 180-degree sound mode for social enjoyment.
