Make Yourself A Home
Casa Consunji brings unique and stylish nature-inspired pieces for the home right to your doorstep
It has been a year since the interior designer Maggie Wilson-consunji began sharing her tasteful insights through a concept home store aptly named Casa Consunji located in Acacia Estates Town Centre. It showcases stylish furniture and décor, as well as sustainable curios from her travels—all radiating her fondness for beautiful spaces and cra s.
“A home should be a place where you wouldn’t want to leave. It should look and feel like a resort or a hotel that you can get away to every day,” says Maggie. Indeed, entering Casa Consunji is like being transported into a cosy resort home where one can let his or her interior dreams take ight. e soothing warm colour palette of wood and brass makes for an eye-catching vignette that depicts a relaxing home away from home. Arresting pieces made of natural elements such as rattan, wicker, bamboo, leather, animal hides, copper, marble, a variety of natural stones, and petri ed woods abound, evoking Casa Consunji’s signature natural modern aesthetics. e fabrics and textiles available are all made of 100% linen, while the pillows, of 100% cotton. Since sustainability is at the core of the brand, rugs, are made from recycled fabrics and recycled plastic.
A er completing a two-year course at Sofa’s Interior Design Institute, Maggie took on the task of designing model units and showrooms for M Residences a project of her husband Victor’s eponymous real estate development company. Here, the designer created di erent moods to highlight the versatility of the spaces, making them suitable and appealing to di erent personalities. Designing these projects and the homes of her friends and clients gave Maggie the inspiration to bring in unique furniture and decorative pieces sourced from the world over—from the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Norway.
Maggie and her partners ensure that the products sourced for the store are inherently abundant in the speci c destinations they come from. For instance, their brass, copper, and marble items are from India where these are plentiful. Such unique artisanal items are mostly handmade, and specially created for Casa Consunji. ( e store’s bestselling items can also be ordered through its online platform.) For those shoppers seeking tips on the interiors of their homes, Maggie and the resident interior designer, Bernie Santos, are happy to help.
Nestled within the stylish emporium is a little café that completes that warm feeling of being “at home.” Shoppers can pause for delightful snacks including healthy smoothie bowls, vegetarian options, breakfast favourites, light sandwiches, and speciality co ee while taking in the charming nature-inspired ambience. In addition, a curated cocktail selection is available for happy hour.
A er celebrating its rst anniversary, plans to expand Casa Consunji both North and South of the metro are in the pipeline along with exclusive limited-edition collections and collaborations with local artists.
