TOWARDS THE FUTURE
Duravit and Sieger Design collaborate to create “the bathroom of the future” combining the beauty of ceramics and the precision of aluminium
The leading brand in porcelain bathroom fittings, Duravit, partnered with the German firm Sieger Design to create a new line of products that will take bathroom design to the next level. The result of this powerhouse collaboration are the Viu series and the Xviu furniture. Taking centre stage in the Viu series is its washing area variant, patented with c-bonded technology. The exterior takes on a strict rectangular shape while inside, the spacious inner basin and a generous shelf showcase gentle organic curves. The metal console, with its V-shape profile in champagne or black matte, serves as a robust support. It also comes with a glass shelf available in four colours. Enriching the bathroom with great visual impact, the Viu furniture washbasin, built-in washbasin, and above-counter washbasin are three modern styles that homeowners can choose from. Each features a striking V-shaped lateral aluminium profile in either champagne or black matte. The composition of real wood, lacquer, and décor creates a strong and elegant finish. Reflecting the unique design language of the Xviu furniture range, the cabinet glass mirrors are fitted with a sensor switch that emits dim lighting—the first of its kind. It features an ambient light mode and coloured light switching function: at a luminosity of 300 lux, the light colour can be continuously adjusted from 2,700 (warm light) to 6,500 Kelvin (cold light). The bathroom comes alive with the Xviu standing bathtub. The prominent metal frame stands out in both champagne or black matte, and the potent colour is a contrast to its high-glossy acrylic. With the integration of ergonomics in its design, the standing bathtub is truly a masterpiece. The advanced features of the Xviu toilet range provide maximum comfort and convenience to its users. The improved Rimless® technology offers a powerful and efficient flushing system. The open design of the toilets allows the water to flow in the form of a horizontal arc, and then vertically, before flushing the entire inner surface of the bowl without splashing. The Sensowash® slim, on the other hand, is an optional specification. It reveals the advantages of a shower-toilet seat. After using the toilet, select three cleaning functions: Rearwash, Ladywash, and Comfortwash. The water temperature, spray intensity, and spray wand position can be adjusted with each function. Lastly, the Duravit A2 electronic actuator plate enriches the bathroom experience with several convenient functions: integrated hygienic flush, auto flush, nightlight, cleaning function, emergency power supply, and the quiet and effective odour extraction as a bonus feature. Founded in 1817 in Hornberg, Black Forest in Germany, Duravit remains as the leading international manufacturer of designer bathrooms. The company is active in more than 130 countries, and has collaborated with high-profile international designers, such as Philippe Starck, EOOS, Phoenix Design, Sieger Design, Kurt Merki Jr., Christian Werner, Matteo Thun, and Cecilie Manz.
