Paul R Boldy and Harvey Law Group are keen on helping Filipino businesses expand beyond local shores

Boldy is no stranger to helping businesses set up a branch beyond their home shores and working overseas. He has held positions in a number of companies which were in the business of offering assistance to corporations setting up offi ces within Asia. In doing so, he enabled these companies to gain a foothold in the region to help grow their businesses further.

He joined HLG’s Hong Kong office as Director of Business Development in March 2017 and was seconded as Philippine Country Manager in October. HLG was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Hong Kong with 15 offi ces worldwide.

“We realised that the Philippines was a good market,” he explains as to why the fi rm chose to set up in the country. “There are many Filipinos living and working overseas.”

It is one thing to work abroad, but setting up a business or a foreign branch is a different story. Many businessmen consider dual-citizenship to gain a second passport for smoothly conducting business overseas.

“A second passport definitely helps when you’re setting up your company,” Boldy says. “This advantage allows high net-worth individuals to spread around and mitigate risk as they move forward.”

Second citizenship helps individuals structure and secure their businesses and personal lives. It allows them to bring along their spouses and children to give them better lives via a safer environment, quality education, and employment.
