COLE SPROUSE IN MANILA

ZacandCody alumnus Cole Sprouse, pictured here with Ben Chan and his father, recently visited Manila for a meet-and-greet with fans, as a global endorser for mega clothing brand Bench. Throughout his stay in the city, Sprouse was seen in Divisoria and Poblacion, places that are usually considered unorthodox for an international celebrity to visit. One major highlight of his trip was when he received an antique mask from Ben Chan, as the retail giant heard of Sprouse’s collection of exotic masks.
DUTY CALLS
Long known for her concern for the welfare of underprivileged children, former congresswoman Nikki Prieto-Teodoro recently took her oath as the country’s Special Envoy to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) at the Philippine Embassy in London. She was formally sworn into her new duties by Antonio Lagdameo, Philippine ambassador to the UK.
DANCING QUEEN
Everyone knows Arlene Cu loves to dance. So when she celebrated her birthday, she threw a party where she pulled out all the stops by inviting one of the world’s leading ballroom dancers to perform. The best part of it? She had a dance number where she was lowered by hydraulics from the ceiling. Guests screamed with delight as the birthday girl danced up a storm—definitely one for the books!
WE'RE ENGAGED!
First, it was his sister; then his mum; and then his dad. Nature finally took its course and now it’s Quark Henares who’s heading to the altar. The director proposed to long-time girlfriend singersongwriter Bianca Yuson. Putting his directorial skills to good use, Henares orchestrated the whole set up while directing her music video. Family members and friends were in a holding area where they could watch him go down on bended knee. A party broke out as soon as she said yes. We wish this creative couple all the best!
RACING AWARENESS
Denizens of the fashion industry know her best as the dynamic force behind world-renowned talent agency Ford Models, which her parents founded in 1946. Today, however, the world knows Katie Ford as a staunch advocate against human trafficking through her foundation Freedom for All. As part of her advocacy, she was recently in Manila to support close friend and fellow advocate Cecile Oebanda, founder of Voice of the Free, at a charity talk held at Manila House. There, these two amazing women spoke to raise awareness about the illegal trafficking of women and children in the Philippines.
