With the flourishing economy, “I think people are starting to focus on investments outside of the country,” says Founder and Managing Partner Jean-Francois Harvey. His interest in the field began in the 1990s when he helped clients in Montreal’s Chinatown immigrate to Canada. Upon exploring the emerging market through the decades, he pioneered the practice of investment immigration in regions that faced travel restrictions.

Up until 2012, the trend of investment immigration mostly focused in US, Canada, and Australia. Additionally, “it would take years of waiting to get your permanent residence.” Today, HLG offers over 20 Residency and Citizenship by Investment Programmes in various continents, some serving as gateways to over 170 countries. “Now, those with a second passport only need to think about [booking] their next flight,” says Harvey who is based in Hong Kong.

“We make sure to understand every option available in the market so the client can choose what best fits their goals,” explains Harvey of the firm’s results-oriented approach. “Clients come to see us because they want to travel easily in order to do more business,” he adds, believing that face-to-face meetings is still the best way to close deals. “Other clients want to be mobile because of their families.”
