CONTEMPORARY ENCLAVE

Seda Vertis North adds to AyalaLand Hotels and Resorts Corporation’s portfolio of distinct properties

Catering to travellers headed north is Seda Vertis North, Quezon City’s largest hotel, which features 438 guest rooms, a 700sqm grand ballroom, and a collection of contemporary local art. “Seda has always been a canvas for Filipino talent,” says Ayala Land Assistant Vice President and head of Seda Vertis North design team Edwin Yabut. He begins with the hotel lobby, which features iconic pieces by Jaime Zobel de Ayala, Kenneth Cobonpue, Vito Selma, and Ann Pamintuan. Guests are welcomed into a luxurious oasis that celebrates Filipino artistry.

At the heart of every Seda hotel are its spacious guest rooms. Creative yet functional, the rooms and suites were conceptualised to have a residential feel, according to Yabut. From a 32sqm deluxe room to a 160sqm presidential suite, warm colours add a punch to an otherwise neutral palette. Ottomans and movable accent tables are well-established touches of versatility. The largest room in the hotel includes an en suite bathroom, kitchenette and dining area, private living room, dressing room, and a round-theclock butler service.

“Seda is now more at home with its success and this is reflected in our scale,” explains Group General Manager Brett Hickey. The brand’s excellence is also exemplified in Misto, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant with buffet stations and pastries that change seasonally. Communal wooden tables like those at the lobby add an element of surprise. “It’s our way of promoting social interaction among travellers who may want some company during meals,” says Hickey.

On the other hand, guests can enjoy curated drinks at the roof deck bar, Straight Up, which offers al fresco seating and stunning views of the surrounding cityscape. A spa sits on the third floor, where a poolside area showcases furniture pieces by Cebuano designers. The hotel’s facilities are further complemented by the nearby entertainment options at Ayala Malls Vertis North, home to one of the Philippine’s largest cinemas.

“Since 2012, Seda Hotels Group has been drawing from innate heritage and combining it with high levels of training to meet the needs of savvy travellers,” says Hickey. He assures that as Seda Vertis North expands, it will continue to be a benchmark for excellent Filipino hospitality.
