MATISSE AND PICASSO
NATIONAL GALLERY OF AUSTRALIA, CANBERRA 13 DECEMBER TO 13 APRIL
Drawing on approximately 40 international art collections, this exhibition explores the famous rivalry between Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso, who are both challengers and inspirations to each other. The exhibition spans the start of Picasso’s career, which began when Matisse was already an established artist, to Picasso’s artistic response to Matisse’s death. Next year, this exhibition will move to the National Gallery of Singapore, where it will be on show from 15 May to 16 August. nga.gov.au
