TV host, Creative Director, Entrepreneur, 35 Weightlifting and Fitness Training

Playing any sport was a daunting thought for Mond growing up. Never one to take fitness classes seriously in the past, he found his lifestyle choices during his twenties catching up with him. “Before I knew it, I had gained so much weight that it was starting to affect my health. This was my wake-up call,” he says.

What started as a challenge turned into a passion for working out and staying fit. With his close friends, Mond took part in the Century Tuna No Excuses campaign in 2017. The campaign followed him over a period of 12 weeks of working towards a healthy lifestyle. Reaching out to his close group of friends who were likewise into fitness was a huge help. “I started working out, sought out friends who led a healthy lifestyle, and completely turned my life around. I also began working out with a trainer, Arnold Aninion, and did spinning and boxing classes for cardio.”

The TV personality and fitness junkie shares that he feels more focused, positive, and ambitious when working out. Doing cardio and weight training in the morning sets Mond’s positive disposition for the day. “I feel like I can take on the world!” When he feels unmotivated, he joins a spinning class to get the energy he needs.

Now that he is into fitness, he makes sure to eat wellbalanced meals. “I think it’s all about creating a balance. Now, I’ve learnt to enjoy food when I travel but make sure to work out the next day,” he says. For him, life is all about options. The little changes build up to create the biggest change.

“It’s all about time management and putting things in perspective. When you take care of yourself, you’re able to take care of your loved ones as well,” he says. He plans to enroll in Pilates and Yoga classes for improved flexibility. “I’ve been more focused on cardio to lose the weight, and then weight training to build muscle. The next phase is flexibility.”
