MAYNILA SA MGA KUKO LIWANAG (1975)

Martin Scorsese personally selected this and funded a complete film restoration of a new 35mm print when he was leading The World Cinema Project. Based on Edgardo Reyes’s novel, the film was directed by Lino Brocka, but other luminaries were involved. Clodualdo del Mundo Jnr adapted it for the screen. Mike de Leon was the producer and cinematographer. Even Tikoy Aguiluz was part of the crew as a stills photographer.
